Configuration rollback aims at improving security of service sensitive data configuration in HUAWEI MSOFTX3000 and making maintenance more convenient for customers. It provides the function that the configuration can be returned back to the state before modification. At present, this function is realized only in some configured data.

There are the following scenarios:

? Configuration in advance: data can be configured before preset cutover time, and the modification does not come into effect immediately. The effective date can be determined by the user. For example, data can be configured at daytime, and become valid at night.

? Swift put to effect: after confirmation by the user, the configured data can come into effect swiftly within the designated time, and enter into the state of trial-run and observation.

? Swift rollback: when it is detected in trial-run that configured data has errors that cause abnormal operation, the system can be swiftly rolled back to the state of original configured data, to avoid large-scale impacts on system service.

? Comparison of configured data: the user can carry out differentiation comparison on the configured data before and after modification to get to know what has changed, possible configuration errors is easily found.

? Activation/rollback table: data configuration task is often carried out by several teams. Each team configures some specific data tables. They can active/rollback the table respectively

Implemented node: VMSC/VLR, GMSC, and TMSC

Served network: GSM and UMTS

Service benefits: Ensure safe operation of the MSC server. Data rollback function and timeliness, to prevent loss of traffic due to man-made configuration errors and improve security of the equipment.

This is a great idea, Can we do it also for MGW?
