The Eudemon supports two typical L2TP tunnel modes. -
NAS-Initialized The remote system connects to the LAC through the PSTN or ISDN in dial-up mode. The LAC sends a request to the LNS for establishing a tunnel connection through the Internet. The LNS assigns a private IP addresses for the dial-in user. The LNS or the agent on the LAC can perform authentication and accounting on the remote user. -
Client-Initialized The LAC client can directly send a request to the LNS for establishing a tunnel rather than through a single LAC device. According to the user name and password, the LNS authenticates this received request and assigns a private IP address to the LAC user. |
