The UMG8900 can be installed in two types of cabinets.

 

• UMG8900 assembly cabinet: The service switching module (SSM) frame and the SIWF frame of 2 U height are configured in the UMG8900 assembly cabinet. Up to three SSM frames and one SIWF frame can be installed in one UMG8900 assembly cabinet.
• UMG8900 high-density extended cabinet: The SSM frame and the SIWF frame of 14 U height are configured in the UMG8900 high-density extended cabinet. Up to two SSM frames and one SIWF frame can be installed in one UMG8900 high-density extended cabinet.

 

Both the preceding types of cabinets are N68E-22 cabinets. They are the same in exterior but different in internal components. These two types of cabinets can be configured together.

 

The cabinet is 2200 mm high, 600 mm wide and 800 mm deep. The available space within the cabinet is 46 U (1 U = 44.45 mm = 1.75 inches).

 

A single cabinet is composed of a power distribution frame, service frames, cabling troughs, filler panels, a cabling rack, slide rails and side hang fiber coilers.The cabinet adopts  – 48V/–60 V DC power supply. The cabinet conforms to IEC297 standards and supports flexible configuration of modules in it.

 

A cabinet has a front door and a back door, which enable the device maintenance from both the front and back of the cabinet.

 

The UMG8900 supports multi-frame cascading to cover applications from 21 E1s/T1s to 1512 E1s/T1s smoothly. In the large-capacity networking, more than one cabinet is required.
