You can view the status of interfaces by running the display mpls ldp interface command. Normally, the command output shows Active in the Status field. If Inactive is displayed, it indicates that the interface cannot receive or send Hello messages. Usually, the Inactive state indicates that the interface is Down because the shutdown command is run or no IP address is assigned to the interface.
