CDTV is short for Cell Delay Variation Tolerance. The device determines whether the received cell is illegal and whether to discard the received cell by checking whether the difference between the time when the cell reaches the device and the theoretical time when the cell should reach the device is below the threshold. CDTV is a parameter defined in the ATM protocol standard. In general, the greater the CDTV value, the lower the probability of packet loss.

And what is the impact on the service if the CDTV parameter is too high?

If you set it too high the equipment will violate the CAC and you will get cell clumping..
