Emergency Call for Special Service

This feature is introduced in UMG8900 V100R001.
Summary: When a mobile user dials a special emergency number, for example, the fire emergency number, police number, ambulance number, or the traffic accident number, the call is routed to the nearest corresponding emergency service center, according to the location of the base station (BS) to which the user belongs. Alarms can be generated for this type of calls, and whether a user is charged can be set. This feature complies with the 3GPP 22.003 "Circuit
Teleservices supported by a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN)."

We have such emergency call implementation in our network where calls are linked to cell IDs before routing the particular call to the nearest call centre within that cell ID of caller, though this implementation wasnt done using the MGW special feature. I will check this more to see if it would be useful in enhancing our present implementation. Thanks and informative. |
