The UGC3200 can work as the Media Gateway Control Function (MGCF) on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network.

Through the UGC3200, the IMS network can interwork with the GSM&UMTS network, CDMA network, and PSTN&NGN network. When functioning as an MGCF, the UGC3200 can share the OMU with the gateway office or IMS Core.

Figure 1 shows the general networking of the UGC3200 functioning as an MGCF.

When functioning as an MGCF, the UGC3200 supports the following application scenarios:

• The GSM&UMTS network

• The CDMA network

• The PSTN&NGN networks

• The CDMA and GSM&UMTS networks

• The GSM&UMTS and PSTN&NGN networks

• The CDMA and PSTN&NGN networks

• The GSM&UMTS, CDMA, and PSTN&NGN networks
