Prerequisites

  • An ESD wrist strap or a pair of ESD gloves and an M3 Phillips screwdriver are available.
  • Associated personnel have gained permission to access the site and have obtained the required keys.

Context

  • The LBBP is hot-swappable.
  • After an LBBP is added, the power required by the BBU may be greater than the power supported by the UPEU. Therefore, a UPEUc needs to be installed before the LBBP is added. For details about the power specifications of the UPEU and how to install a UPEUc, see UPEU and 6.3.1 Adding a UPEU, respectively. In some high-temperature areas, if a second UPEU is installed in the BBU in an outdoor AC cabinet, the FAN unit in the BBU must be replaced with a FANc unit that can operate at a high speed. For details about how to replace a FAN unit, see 6.2.10 Replacing the FAN Unit.
    NOTE:
In a high-temperature area, the number of days with the maximum temperature higher than 45°C (113°F) exceeds 10 in a year.
  • For details about the slot assignment of the LBBP in the BBU, see BBU3900 Slot Assignment.
