Q: Why Are the CRC Values of User Configuration Data on the Active and Standby Control Boards Not the Same?

A:

Before the standby control board becomes normal, the standby control board synchronizes data with the active control board. At this moment, some ONUs go online or offline. The data that is overwritten at this moment in the database on the active control board is not updated to the standby control board. Therefore, the CRC value on the active control board is not the same as that on the standby control board.

Solution: Any data change on the OLT will trigger data synchronization and verification. Besides, The system regularly checks the data consistency between the active and standby control boards. Therefore, this issue does not persist for a long time. This issue will be automatically rectified by the data synchronization and verification triggered by follow-up ONUs going online/offline or OLT data modification, and will not affect services or other OLT functions.

Great post, I didn?t know this issue can be present. Now I know that if switchover occurs between active and standby control board it?s only a matter of time to data synchronization happend. Thanks!
