[O&M Master] How to Set the Port on the SCUB/SCUN Board to the Uplink Port
QuestionEach of the SCUB and SCUN control boards provides four GE optical ports, which can function as uplink ports. How to set a GE optical port on the control board (SCUB or SCUN) to an uplink port if upstream transmission is not implemented by the GIU board? AnswerYou can run an electronic switch command on the SCUB control board to set the GE port on the board to an uplink port. The uplink port on the GIU board and the uplink port on the control board cannot be used for upstream transmission at the same time. You can use only either of them at a time. If the SCUB control board is used, make sure that the current configuration of the system is already saved before running the electro-switch command. After this command is run, the system resets.
The SCUN control board can work with the GIU upstream board at the same time. In this case, the SCUN control board equals an upstream board in another GIU slot. |
