DCM is required for 10G transmission. And DCM is not required only in the pure coherent network

DCM is required not only for 10G transmission, DCM need in many other case. 40G also. And you are right DCM does not need only in "pure coherent network" when chromatic dispersion will be conpensate by DSP.

DCM is inevitable thing in designing optical network.
