If there are no external clock source, the NE can use the line clock source, ethernet clock source, internal clock source.
  • Line clock source: a clock source extracted from optical signals that a line board receives.
  • Ethernet clock source: a clock source extracted from GE or 10GE signals by using synchronous Ethernet.
  • Internal clock source: the clock generated by the free-running oscillator of an NE. Every NE has an internal clock source that is used when the NE loses its external clock source.

Hi

Did you tested 1588v2 packet clock over WDM OTN network?

Thanks

We are in the process of testing & implementing 1588v2 in the network.

I am very intrested on tests and feedback on 1588v2 packet clock over WDM, as its one of the planned ways to distribute clock for 2016 to meet LTE-Advanced clock requirements

Hi tanjil,
Nice to meet you. How are you?

      Do you remember me?

I sent a gift to you for thanking your document suggestion last year.

Recently, I writing a clock infographic about processing of synchronous ethernet packets
and synchronous ethernet transparent transmission.
When I finished, I will send to you for review.

I hope you like it.
Thank you so much.
Have a good day.

Hi My Friend! I read you are interested about 1588v2 over DWDM. What boards do you have installed in your DWDM device? SFIU, FIU? and wich hardware version? That´s very important to support 1588v2transparent transmission over DWDM.
We buy the SFIU because is the board that supports 1588v2 transmission, below the fuction:

Multiplexes and demultiplexes signals transmitted along the main path and optical supervisory channel. With this function, neither commissioning nor delay compensation is required for IEEE 1588V2 clocks

Hope this can be useful for you!

SFIU is used for IEEE 1588V2 clocks.
