Story between Documentation and Me

 

The purpose of technical documentation is to help the intended audience understand the product and accomplish various tasks like how to install the product, use the product, or administer the product.

The main focus lies in the step-by-step process to deliver the technically complex information in a clear, concise, simple, consistent and usable manner. This helps inform the target audience about the technology in the most appropriate format.

Huawei documentations gave me such a favor in the problem related to OSN & DWDM  

One  key example is:

During the commissioning of OSN Mux ,it was unable to configured D4-D12 for DCC & also a alarms reported GSCC resource limitation. This was a totally new problem to me .So far rare also. Then I have started to search the different manuals, luckily got the PDF documents: OptiX OSN 3500/3500T(19inch)/2500/1500 Intelligent Optical Transmission System Configuration Guide.

I found this is very easy to understand, clear and well segmented too, so this motivate me a lot to continue  study and learning more about the documents.

Finally I got the reasons behind my problem also solution .

Problem behind:

>    DCC operation mode was in default Mode 1  in N1GSCC, so it supports only 40 D1-D3 channels no D3-D12 support.

>  In that Mux 2 x SLH1,2x SLQ16 and 2xSLD64 Boards by default D1-D3 channel enable which exceeded 40 Nos.

After changing the operation mode 1 to Operation mode -2 and disabling all the unnecessary D1-D3 from different card both problem got solved.

Later on also I found Huawei documentation is very much helpful in different functionality  info & parameter.

I would like to motivate all technical guys to be more curious and start to dig down insights of Huawei?s documentation. Hope it will help in day to day activity.
