Description: The IP-based Iu interface and IP-based network are the evolution trend. The IP-based reconstruction of the Iu interface is defined in 3GPP R5. Thus, all-IP networking of access networks and CNs is implemented. The IP-based Iu interface makes Iu-Flex networking more feasible. This is because the IP-based Iu interface helps to implement flat networking and prevent complex planning and resource waste in transmitting resources on the Iu interface in Iu-Flex networking.

 

This feature is applicable to the VMSC only.
