High Reliability

The GU HLR9820 adopts the OSTA 2.0 hardware platform, which is compatible with the Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (ATCA). It also adopts a distributed structure and supports in-memory data management, seamless geographic redundancy solution and intelligent traffic control solution. The reliability of the whole system is up to 99.9999%, ensuring uninterrupted service processing.

High Integration

Five subracks of a fully configured GU HLR9820 can store the dynamic data of 100 million subscribers or static data of 200 million subscribers. In addition, the capacity can be expanded to meet more demanding site requirements. The large capacity and centralized management minimize the Operation Expenditure (OPEX) by reducing the cost incurred for equipment maintenance and maintenance personnel, the number of NEs required in the network, as well as the electricity and rented space necessary for operation.

Functions

The GU HLR9820 provides subscriber data management, mobility management, call processing, supplementary service management and authentication functions. It can also be developed to provide more functions.

Applications & Benefits

By the fourth quarter of 2010, our GU HLR had already provided services for more than 250 operators in 142 countries all over the world. Over the course of the past three years, the next generation HLR has served for the main operators include China, the U.S., Canada, Peru, Venezuela, Philippines and so on.

In 2007, Huawei also helped Pakistan Telenor to establish a next generation HLR with the largest capacity in the world, which reduced operating costs by 60%. Peter Anthony Dindial, the CTO of Telenor Pakistan, spoke highly of Huawei, saying: "We are very satisfied with Huawei s performance in this project. Huawei has a very customer focused attitude.
