Features
Industry-leading platform
Adopting the IP routing design of the NE40E, the SBC is the first hardware platform to support the 10GE optical interface. One SBC can provide a maximum of 640 Gbps throughput. By adopting such an advanced platform, the SBC can support a maximum of 600,000 registered users and 60,000 concurrent calls, a capacity that is much better than its peer is capable of providing.
Excellent security capability
The SBC supports a hierarchical security mechanism, which guarantees security for IP communications, signaling and media, and service applications. For example, in the case of session security, the SBC is able to act as a signaling firewall to detect session requests. By controlling session request rates and session packet contents, the SBC eliminates signaling storms, prevents malformed packets from consuming system resources, and avoids phone fraud.
Device-level reliability
Boards, power modules, and fan modules on the SBC work in 1+1 backup mode to avoid single point failures and provide non-stop services in case of a fault.
System-level reliability:
The SBC software uses modular architecture. The fault on one module does not affect the entire system. The SBC supports real-time monitoring and system resource overload protection. The SBC also supports the hot patch technique.
Applications & Benefits
The SBC has served about 100 million users around the world and plays a significant role in the mobile, fixed, and multimedia networks. In June 2009, the SE2600 (latest model of the SBC) helped the Vodafone Group in Italy to replace the existing devices on the live network. With its high performance and security, the SBC provides an overall secure interworking solution for operators and helps them develop the IP network.
