Recently I have faced three performance problems in DWDM Links and In all cases alarm was same but there was three different solutions.

I am now sharing it in successive three post.

Case 1:

Alarm: BEFFEC_EXC alarm in CMDHP(NE Location)

Analysis: This link was between CMDHP-CGPTL(another NE Location)
RX Level was good at both end.
RX level was varied by changing attenuation.
          But alarm is not cleared.
Output power of Line Board (in this case ND2)

Actions taken: Since no indication found we randomly change board at first CGPTL
                       And the alarm gone.

The faulty board had no indication, it is sent to Huawei LAB for further

analysis to find out the actual root cause.

By the way, do you mind if I put your cases in our product manual? So that your case can help more people.

Dear Lois Tan, There is no reason to mind. Because I am posting here so that other people can know. It would be my pleasure, if my experience can help in enhancement of the product manual.

Dear Tanjil, despite the alarm was cleared changing the line board, did you consider that the alarm was triggered by check the dispersion compensation issue?. Thanks a lot for the post.
