One day mobile operator  xyz ask to support for one issue that is " they have one STM-16 circuit configured for external VVIP corporate client that are generating high revenue but the external customer is not happy with the quality as they face errors especially pointer justification error (PJEs), the external customer is likely to move to other available operator in Pakistan because of dissatisfaction" . Operator xyz ask to help to satisfy the external customer and retain the circuit.

I am supporting Operator xyz for optical product line. I check the cause for PJEs from support web and HedExLite . The main reason is that SDH clock source is not properly configured. But in this case I observe that clock source having PRC is properly extended to SDH nodes. I arrange ANT-20 tester and tested the circuit p2p and found no PJEs for 15 min. Again patched the circuit but end customer face the same PJEs after an hour on stability. 

Checked support web for similar case and found that every timing board of SDH node have specific DA value that shows frequency deviation. Found the command from support web how to check DA value. It was found that one of the SDH node was having low DA value although the external clock was properly extended. 

Cause for low DA value was found that the timing board is faulty. This low DA value degraded the clock quality and so the quality degraded caused PJEs at the end user although the Operator segment was clear when tested. So when replace the timing board with new one, the DA value recovered to standard value and the issue of PJEs resolved.

In fact the Operator succeeded to satisfy the end user and retain this high revenue generating circuit. It was achieved through the support available at huawei support web and Huawei team dedication. So every time we face new issue then we can find something on support web and HedEx.
