Hi All, how are you?

I have the following situation: I need to connect two devices at 10GE level, one have a XFP 10G port and the other device uses SFP+ for 10G port. Are this kind of ports compatible? I mean if there is none restrinction to connect both devices. I think should not be any problem.

Waiting for your answers!

Best Regards!

Felipe.

Hi sevillaf, glad to see you .

I think it is ok to connect both devices, but before that , make sure plugin in correct optical module for each 10G port.

If optical interfaces type is same (for example, both is 10GE) you can connect XFP to SFP+ without problem.

This is a quotes from this article:

"The enhanced small form-factor pluggable (SFP+)is an enhanced version of the SFP that supports data rates up to 10 Gbit/s."

"SFP+ module have the same package with SFP, but the rate is much higher than the SFP, close to XFP (10 Gbit / s)."
