Network Impact Report (NIR) belongs to the delta documentation. The NIR focuses on the impacts of new or enhanced sales features on the network capacity and performance compared with an earlier version. The NIR helps you determine whether to introduce a feature to your network.

2) Documentation Description
A Network Impact Report documentation is provided for one version. Network Impact Report focuses on new and enhanced sales features. The impacts brought by non-sales features on the network capacity and performance are described in Release Notes of the corresponding version.

 

2. Highlights
The following figure shows the documentation structure of Network Impact Report.

 

 

After the upgrade from an earlier version to a new version, you may have the following question:
I do not want to introduce any new or enhanced sales features in the new version, but I want to know the network impacts of new basic features or functions in the new version.
Chapter 1 "General Impact" in Network Impact Report provides the answer. This chapter describes the general impact of new basic features or functions in a new version on the network compared with an earlier version. The general impacts include changes in the software capacity, performance, and hardware.

During network operation and maintenance, you may consider introducing a sales feature based on the live network conditions. Before introducing the feature, you may want to know the following information:

• Benefits brought by this feature on the network
• Operation changes for O&M engineers after this feature is introduced

Chapters 2 and 3 in Network Impact Report provide the answer. The two chapters provide corresponding information by sales feature. Information in these two chapters is the same as that in Feature Parameter Description.You can also refer to Feature Parameter Description.
