Dear admin,

One day I need the difference between Eth-Trunk and IP-Trunk Interfaces but I had no answer.

I put this question to Huawei support website & got my answer.

 Huawei provided feedback:

Trunk is created dynamically, which could bind with multiple physical Ethernet interfaces as one logic interface. The Ethernet interface joining Eth-Trunk are called member interfaces. The user only need to configure the Eth-Trunk, and the configurations will be mapped to the member interfaces.   NE40 series routers support  Eth-Trunk interfaces in both routing and switching modes, and also the switchover between the both. Eth-Trunk  interface in routing mode is similar to the Ethernet interface in routing mode, and it could be configured with IP address, and could run various routing protocols and multiple services as MPLS VPN. The Eth-Trunk in switching mode is similar to the Ethernet interface in switching mode, and it could join VLAN, and run STP, etc. Eth-Trunk mainly functions  to enlarge the bandwidth of interface,  increase the reliability of links and realize the load balance of traffic.

IP-Trunk is created dynamically, which could bind with multiple physical POS interfaces as one logic interface. The POS interface joining IP-Trunk  are called member interfaces.   The users only need to configure the IP-Trunk, and the configurations will be mapped to the member interfaces. IP-Trunk  interface is similar to POS interface,  and it could be configured with IP address, and run various routing protocols, and services such as MPLS VPN.

Thanks to Huawei team
