Interesting. In one of the other posts " Identifying genuine / Fake SDN " it was mentioned that for genuine SDN the Forwarders should only have data plane capability and no control plane. In this explanation you have mentioned about "Establishing Layer 3 control channels " between the Controller and the NEs. Without control plane in the device how can you run ISIS / OSPF ?
