Concept has easily described.

I strongly disagree with you on the fake SDN explanation. According to me any vendor has to define
an evolution path to a fully SDN complaint network [ SDN 2.0 ] where the NEs are just white boxes.
The first step to evolution is to have a hybrid Network with Distributed control plane across.

All vendors are miles away from getting the SDN 2.0 model into PRODUCTION environment.
So far all including us are stuck in the hybrid model.

Now keeping the SBI and NBI open or Closed is up to the vendor to decide. If they have a closed SBI/NBI then they are at the verge of being thrown out unless the Customer is only interested to have them in.
