TDM Bus · Function · Implementation The TDM bus provides a data channel for the narrowband services. It transmits the synchronization clock and narrowband timeslot information of the system. Function The SWU is the switching core of the narrowband service plane. It implements timeslot information exchange between boards and subracks on the narrowband service plane. In addition, the SWU receives the synchronization clock information generated by the system clock module and transfers the information to the narrowband interface modules through the TDM bus. Figure 1 shows the connections of the TDM buses. Figure 1 (attached) Connections of the TDM buses The clock synchronization module is configured on the SWI in slot 0. It uses the external clock reference source to generate the synchronization clock source required for the system and sends the clock source to the SWU in slot 0. The SWU transfers the synchronization clock information to various narrowband interface modules through the TDM bus. On receiving the synchronization clock information, the narrowband interface modules generate clocks required for various services, thus achieving synchronization throughout the system. |
