This alarm is generated when the Ethernet port of the FG2a/GOUa/FG2c/GOUc is configured with an IP address or added to a trunk group but the Ethernet port cannot transmit or receive packets.

Impact on System

The services carried on the Ethernet link are disrupted.

System Actions

When the Ethernet ports work in active/standby mode, a switchover is performed between the active port and the standby port.

Possible Causes

  • The physical connection of the Ethernet port is faulty.
  • The Ethernet port is deactivated.
  • The peer equipment is faulty.
  • Negotiation fails between the local and peer ports because of inconsistency in the work mode or rate configured for both ports.
  • The sub-board of the board to which the Ethernet port belongs is faulty.
  • The optical module is not inserted or is abnormal.
