Case study: Diameter-Radius Translation
|
On a network where Diameter and Radius devices coexist, the Diameter-Radius Translation service enables the signaling service processing system (SPS) to convert Diameter messages received from Diameter devices to Radius messages before sending them to Radius devices. Figure 1 shows the implementation of the Diameter-Radius Translation service. Impact on Capacity and PerformanceSystem Capacity If the SPS is configured to convert all received Diameter messages to Radius messages, the Diameter message forwarding performance decreases by 30%.
