During the installation of a GPRS project we face a problem of all the PSM boards are offline just the Active UOMU board and the BNET boards are working while all the other boards appear to be offline and the RUN indicator of the boards is flashing quickly.

Then I put this problem description to Huawei support website and got my success.

 

Huawei provided solution:

The handling of this issue is by two ways the first is by changing the optical cables both the TX and RX from port 3 to port 1 and move the optical cable from port 1 to port 3.

The second solution is by changing the configuration to be as shown below:

ADD SUBRACK: SRN=1, SRT=PSM, SN1=2, PN1=3, SN2=3, PN2=3, BDF=NO, NAUBDF=NO, CGBDF=NO;

ADD BRDCFG: SRN=UCDR0, SN1=2, PN1=1, SN2=3, PN2=1;

So these two solutions can solve the problem.

 

Sometimes we cannot estimate the optical cable connection; but we have to follow the standard MML configuration of the SGSN. Also during the cable connection it is important to check the connection and the direction of each cable special for the optical cables also it important to labeling these cables according to the labeling standard to avoid such above problems.
