Definition

The Diameter Routing Based on Error Code service is a sub-service of the Multi-Policy Routing service. The service enables the signaling service processing system (SPS), which functions as a Diameter routing agent (DRA) or Diameter edge agent (DEA) in a Diameter signaling network, to select a new route based on the service error codes returned by peers. This service enhances the networking and routing capabilities of the SPS. Figure 1 shows the background for the Diameter Routing Based on Error Code service.
