This operation guide describes how to configure NTP service of the DNS.
Conditions
Before configuring the NTP service, you need to ensure that the time zone, date, and time are set correctly on the DNS server.
Run the # echo $TZ check the time zone of the server.
If the time zone is set incorrectly on the system that does not use DST, change the time zone by referring toConfiguring the Time Zone of the DNS Server Without Using DST; Otherwise, change the time zone by referring toConfiguring the Time Zone of the DNS Server Using DST
.
Run the # date check the date and time of the server. If the date is incorrect or the time difference of the server time and the clock source exceeds two minutes, change the date and time by referring toSetting the Date and Time on the DNS.
Log in to the server as user root through telnet mode.
The top layer NTP server has been configured in the mobile network.
The upper-layer time server of the DNS server requires that the NTP protocol should be used. The server running on the Windows operating system uses the SNTP protocol. Therefore, it cannot be used as the upper-layer time server of the DNS server.
