Availability:
This feature was introduced in M2000 V200R010. The original CME release is CME
V200R009.

Summary:

Configuration parameter change tracking allows users to compare live configuration
parameters with benchmark configuration parameters. It also allows users to compare live
configuration parameters of different WRAN networks.
Parameter consistency check helps users check the consistency of external cells and
unidirectional neighboring cells on the UMTS network. When detecting any inconsistencies
or unidirectional neighboring cells, this feature helps users quickly rectify the problems.
Parameter comparison allows users to compare UMTS NE parameters, UMTS cell parameters,
UMTS cell and NE parameters, physical NodeB, physical NodeB local cell, Iu/Iur interface
parameters, or Iub interface parameters. Users can compare these parameters with those in
templates, of specified objects, and in user-defined files.
Batch template application allows users to apply templates to a specified object so as to
batch-modify the parameters of this object. Currently, this function provides RNC, NodeB,
and cell templates.

Benefits:

The preceding functions help users quickly learn about configuration changes, inconsistencies,
and differences. These functions also help users batch-modify configuration parameters.

Description:

This feature provides the following functions:
?  Configuration parameter change tracking
This function allows users to:
?  Create and store multiple configuration parameter baselines.
?  Compare configuration parameter baselines, compare NE configuration parameters
and configuration parameter baselines, and compare NE configuration parameters.
The comparison results can be saved as an HTML, XLS, or XLSM file.
?  Transfer configuration parameter baselines between the M2000 server and client.
?  Rename or delete configuration parameter baselines.
?  Parameter consistency check
This function can be performed automatically or manually. The automatic check is
performed on a scheduled basis.
The M2000 centrally manages scheduled consistency check tasks using the feature
WOFD-071200 Centralized Task Manager. To perform a manual check, users need to set
check criteria, including NEs to be checked and check rules for selected NEs. Supported
check items are as follows:
?  Consistency of neighboring RNC cells
?  Unidirectional neighboring UMTS cells
?  UMTS distance between neighboring cells
After a check is complete, the CME generates check results with an alarm severity of
error, major, or warning. Users can set the alarm severity for each check result. The
check results can be saved as an HTML, CSV, XLS, XLSX, PDF, or TXT file. Users can
compare the results.
The check results can be corrected as follows:
?  Automatic correction: The CME automatically deletes redundant data and adds
missing data.
?  Wizard-based data update: The CME provides modification suggestions for users.
?  Configuration data editing: The CME provides a general configuration window for
users to modify relevant configuration data.
Parameter comparison
Parameter comparison allows users to compare UMTS NE parameters, UMTS cell
parameters, UMTS cell and NE parameters, physical NodeB, physical NodeB local cell,
Iu/Iur interface parameters, or Iub interface parameters. Users can view the comparison
results on a web page. The comparison results can be saved as an HTML, XLS, or
XLSM file. The parameter comparison can be performed on a scheduled basis. The
M2000 centrally manages scheduled parameter comparison tasks using the feature
WOFD-071200 Centralized Task Manager.
The following comparison types are supported:
?  Comparing parameters with those in templates
?  Comparing parameters with those of specified objects
?  Comparing parameters with those in user-defined files. Notes: only UMTS NEs and
UMTS cells support user-defined files.
?  Batch template application
This function allows users to:
?  Batch-modify parameters by applying the configuration parameters in a template to
specified objects.
?  Batch-modify certain parameters of specified objects by filtering and applying the
related configuration parameters in a specified template to these objects.
?  Apply templates in batches, such as templates for GU base station controllers, RNCs,
NodeB, and cells.

Enhancement:

The following functions are added to M2000 V200R012C00:
?  Applying templates for NodeBs and cells in batches
?  Comparing parameters of base station controllers with the parameters in their respective
templates
The following functions are added to M2000 V200R011C00:
?  Comparing RNC and cell algorithm parameters
?  Comparing parameters of the Iu/Iur transmission interface

Dependency:

Excel 2003, Excel 2007, or Excel 2010 must be installed on the PC running the CME client.
Users must purchase and install Microsoft Office in advance.
