[Experience]: Board Cannot be Added to OSN 6800 Subrack
|
Problem Summary: While adding board in OSN 6800 Subrack. It shows error message "Power is not enough, Error code 41773" Analysis: Power consumption analysis done from U2000 and found Power Threshold: 1350w Actual Power Consumption: 1243w Nominal/Standard Power Consumption: 1415w Findings: This Subrack was electrical Subrack and occupied with high power consuming board like TOM & ND2. and the total expected power consumption of these boards are 1415w. Hence though actual power consumption (1243) is lower than threshold value(1415w), new boards cannot be added as nominal power(1415) is greater than threshold. Actions: Services in the boards are optimized so that some boards can be offloaded. After board offloading nominal power is now lower than threshold and problem solved.

The feature is very good one, to not allow new board if the power is not enough and raise alarm it is a very useful protection and warning With some other vendor if you add more board sand there not enough power : You got no alarm or warning! the power supply crash, electrical breakers goes off and subrack is shut down with loss of trafic and service. Dont want to be in place of the guy who did it |
| Thanks a lot and very useful for future references. |
