The UMG8900 supports thebackup of the master and slave GE/FE interfaces. When the master interface or link fails, traf fic can be automatically switched to the slave interface of the slaveboard. Therefore, services arenot interrupted.

This  feature  provides  the  backup  function  of  the  GE/FE  interface.  When  the  master  interface
or link fails, services are not interrupted.

The UMG8900 supports thebackup of the master and slave GE/FE interfaces. In actual networking, the UMG8900 can directly connect with provider edges (PEs). The master and slave GE or FE interfaces are set with the same IP address. On the PE, create two Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP)backup groups for media and signaling virtual LANs (VLANs) respectively . The GE links configuredbetween two PEs arebound. In addition, create Layer2 and Layer3 interfaces. The Layer2 interface serves as the VLAN trunk for transmitting VRRP heartbeat packets. Therefore, the interworking among VLANs is realized. When the master interface or link fails, traf fic canbe automatically switched to the slave interface of the slave board. Therefore, services arenot interrupted.

When the master interface or link fails, traffic can be automatically switched to the slave interface of the slave board. Therefore, services are not interrupted.

Wow, its a great technique. Thanks.
