My Success story on folloeing: SMSC - Case Study - MTI Server Being Disconnected from an MEM on the USAU and the Alarm IP Address switch success Being Repeatedly Generated This case study is about MTI Server Being Disconnected from an MEM on the USAU and the Alarm IP Address switch success Being Repeatedly Generated. Thank you. Symptom The Message Transfer Interface (MTI) Server is disconnected from a Memory (MEM) on the Universal Signaling Access Unit (USAU), and the alarm IP Address switch success is repeatedly generated on the USAU alarm console. Cause Analysis 1. Run the DSP MEMFE command to check whether the MTI Server is properly connected to the MEM on the USAU. In the command output, the value of Connection State is Break, which indicates that the MTI Server is disconnected from the MEM on the USAU. 2. Check whether data is correctly configured on the USAU and MTI Server. USAU configuration, MEM configuration, and the mtiserver.ini file configuration are correct. 3. Run the ping MEM IP address command on the Short Message Service Center (SMSC) to check whether the SMSC is properly connected to the USAU. The MEM Internet Protocol (IP) address is successfully pinged on the SMSC, which indicates that the SMSC is properly connected to the USAU. 4. Check whether only one IP address is assigned to the MEM. Multiple IP addresses are assigned to the MEM. As a result, the MTI Server is disconnected from the MEM. Solution 1. Delete all the IP addresses assigned to the MEM, and reset the MEM. 2. Assign only one IP address to the MEM. 3. Reset the MEM, and check MEM status. The MEM is running properly, and the MTI Server is properly connected to the MEM. Problem Solved. |
