Can anyone state the difference ?

This is a "big" question, if we discuss about this question in detail, it will cost lots of time, but i can try to explain the difference between SDH ASON & WDM ASON as simply as possible.

The ASON solution provided by Huawei includes optical-layer and electrical-layer ASON services. The optical-layer ASON service achieves OCh-level service grooming, the electrical-layer ASON service including OTN service and SDH service. The OTN service achieves ODUk-level service grooming and the SDH service achieves VC4 level service grooming.  In short, different types of ASON protect different service level. Users can determine whether to choose based on the network situations and service requirements.
