Thoughts: ODU_SNCP_STA_INDI is more effective than ODU_SNCP_PS. ODU_SNCP_PS shou

For ODUk SNCP in DWDM NE like OSN 6800, 8800 etc. there are two alarms:- 1. ODU_SNCP_STA_INDI 2. ODU_SNCP_PS 1st alarm means some malfunctioning in working or protection path. If problem solved, alarm cleared. 2nd alarm means switching occured (working to protection). This alarm not cleared until it back to woring path. Hence OSU_SNCP_PS should be an evet not alarm. Friends what do you think? |
| I think both are alarms, where ODU_SNCP_PS indicates the ODU SNCP protection switching and ODU_SNCP_STA_INDI indicates the state of the ODU SNCP protection group. |

This topic is actually very interesting. But unfortunately, the title is too long to be displayed on the homepage of the community. I suggest modifying the title like this: Do you agree that OSU_SNCP_PS should be changed to an event? For more information of how to write a better title. Check the following link. |
| You are right in a certain extent, but there is a possible cause of ODU_SNCP_PS that "A user delivers an external switching command such as forced switching or manual switching. Such a command switches the services of the ODUk SNCP protection group from the working channel to the protection channel." In this cause, the ODU_SNCP_STA_INDI alarm may not report and ODU_SNCP_PS can remind someone the miscake manipulation that an event cannot. So ODU_SNCP_PS as an alarm is necessary. |
