In V100R006 and later versions, a switch enabled with gateway timing detection considers the gateway as invalid if the switch does not receive any response after five probes. The switch then clears the current gateway MAC address and the ACL rule delivering the gateway MAC address. This prevents user communication caused by the gateway failure.
