1. Application Description
1) Service Description
According to the homing network mode of features and whether the features are controlled by licenses, the GSM features are categorized as follows:
- Basic features: indicate GSM features that are not controlled by licenses, which are also called non-sales features. You can use basic features after purchasing the software.
- Optional features: indicate GSM features that are controlled by licenses, which are also called sales features. You can use optional features only after purchasing them.
- GSM-related multimode features: indicate the GSM-related multimode features that are provided by the MBTS. Some GSM-related multimode features are controlled by licenses while the remaining features are not.
- Multimode base station controller features: indicate features are provided by the MBSC. Some multimode base station controller features are controlled by licenses while the remaining features are not.
- Trial features: indicate features that can be used for free without a license control in the current version. Trial features will be controlled by licenses in subsequent versions. If you want to use those features in subsequent versions, you need to pay for them.
2) Documentation Description
The GSM feature documentations are categorized as follows:
- Feature Parameter Description (FPD): Details the feature implementation principles and engineering guidelines.
- Network Impact Report (NIR): belongs to the delta documentation. The NIR focuses on the impacts of new or enhanced sales features on the network capacity and performance compared with an earlier version.
2. Highlights The feature documentations are identified by feature ID or feature name. You can use feature ID or name to search for the corresponding description in the feature documentations.

The feature IDs and names are defined in Feature List and Feature Description.
