This section describes the dangerous operations on the cables and hardware switches.

Hardware Component	Dangerous Operation	Possible Results
Board	Pull out the active SMM or SWU online.	If you pull out the active board online when the standby board works normally, the latest data on the active board cannot be completely backed up to the standby board, because the switchover of boards requires several minutes. In this case, some data will be lost. If you pull out the active board online when the standby board does not work normally, all the data will be lost.
	Pull out the front board of the CG9812 online.	If you pull out a front board of the CG9812 online, an exception occurs in the OS, such as the blue screen on the server.
	Pull out the USI or SWI online.	If you pull out the USI online, the front board, that is, the processor board, may be powered off. If you pull out the SWI online, the interface on the SWI is unavailable. After you insert the SWI again, you must restart the front board, that is, the SWU.
	Press the Reset button on the panel of a board incorrectly.	Hardware reset is, however, an operation that is carried out only by experts when severe faults occur. After you press the Reset button on the board panel, the board is forced to carry out the hardware reset and all the processes of the board are reset.
	Press the locks on the ejector levers of a board incorrectly.	The locks are used to lock the ejector levers. The ejector levers are used to fasten the board and to control the powering on or powering off of the board. If you press the locks on the ejector levers incorrectly, the board is powered off. The consequence is the same as when you pull out the board online.
	Connect a serial port cable to the debug serial port of a board for debugging.	Only professional engineers can use the debug serial port of a board. It is dangerous for you to use it because it may lower the processing efficiency of a board or reset a board.
	Pull out or insert the boards without wearing the ESD-preventive wrist strap.	The ESD generated by the human body severely harms the electronic components on the board. If you pull out or insert boards without wearing the ESD-preventive wrist strap, the boards may be damaged or cannot work stably.
Cables	Plugging or unplugging cables	If a cable is connected improperly to or disconnected from the LAN Switch, the CG9812 cannot receive CDRs from the GSN/UGW. If the cable to the OMN is disconnected, the NMC, OMN, and the third-party devices cannot access the CG9812. If a cable is connected improperly to or disconnected from the BS, the BS cannot receive CDRs files from the CG9812.
	Plugging or unplugging the cables to the KVM switch	The keyboard, monitor, and mouse cannot work.
Hardware switches	Pressing the power switch of the CG9812	The CG9812 stops working and interrupts service.
	Pressing the reset switch of the CG9812	The CG9812 restarts. Pressing the reset switch of the CG9812 server may induce temporary service interruption.
