Very good information! describes in a clear way the basics for ethernet service types in a transport network scenario. You cal also add other protection schemes to avoid loop like multi spanning tree or EPR (Ethernet protection ring.

Good share, but our MSTP equipment have not supported the E-tree service, isnt it?

Hi Tina, I think you can do something similar using hub/spoke with MSTP devices, the main device of the tree is a hub and the leafs are spoke devices in that way the leaf devices only can communicate to the main site.

Hope this information can be useful for everybody

Hello, dear Djemai,

RTN equipment can also provide E-LAN service over MPLS network, this service also called Virtual private LAN service (VPLS) in RTN equipment, which uses VSI (virtual switch instance) to provides a Layer 2 forwarding.

You can just put an RTN equipment on the blue circle you drawn. And here is an example for mobile back haul.

And as my opinion, if E-tree is a p2mp sercice, QinQ or just 802.1q can share a port for multi source, they can also look like E-tree in native Ethernet. In MPLS network implement by RTN, we use E-Aggr service to work as E-tree. The following is an example.

For more detail, please refer to RTN documention, and we can also keep sharing in here :)

(for Ethernet services in MPLS network, refer to http://support.huawei.com/hdx/hdx.do?docid=DOC1000092556&id=tc_pfc_ethpw_0001&text=ETH%2520PWE3&lang=en)

Best Regards!
