Introducing the U-PATH service of the SOFTX
U-PathThis section describes the U-Path service. DefinitionThe U-Path is an IP-based management platform that provides centralized management for subscribers such as hotels and corporations. The U-Path is an essential coordinator of the SoftX3000 for implementing the Centrex service. The U-Path is usually deployed on a multi-media computer equipped with the network adapter. It implements remote access and provides call transfer, subscriber management, and charging for Centrex group subscribers. Benefits
RequirementsTable 1 describes the requirements of the U-Path service. Table 1 Requirements of the U-Path service
Application LimitationsNone. Interaction with Other ServicesNone. Application ScenarioThis service is applicable to the NGN network. Principle of ImplementationThe following description takes the out-group call transfer function of the U-Path as an example. Assume that subscriber A is a Centrex subscriber and number B is the number of the U-Path serving subscriber A. Subscriber A wants to initiate an out-group call through the U-Path. Figure 1 shows the message exchange in the U-Path service (out-group call transfer) Figure 1 Message exchange in the U-Path service http://localhost:7890/pages/31185507/03/31185507/03/resources/figure/fig_cn_43_08_0029601.png P1: Upon detecting that the number dialed by A is a Centrex short number registered on the SHLR, the SoftX3000 sends an SRI message to the SHLR to obtain the subscriber number corresponding to the dialed short number. P2: The SoftX3000 connects the call to the subscriber number obtained. ChargingCentrex subscriber A calls subscriber C out of the Centrex through the console B. After the call between subscriber C and subscriber A is established, the SoftX3000 generates two common CDRs One is for the call leg between subscriber A and subscriber B and the other is for the call leg between subscriber B and subscriber C.
