This section describes the concepts and implementation principles of the CUG service. This feature is applicable on both the MSOFTX & SOFTX products .

Definition

The CUG service ensures call security by restricting the call authorities of user groups. In normal cases, a subscriber in a CUG group can originate a call to or receive a call from a subscriber in the same CUG group only. A subscriber in a CUG group can also be restricted from originating a call to or receiving a call from a subscriber in the same CUG group.

Functions

The SoftX3000 controls the implementation of the CUG service.

The SHLR9200 manages the information about subscribers.

Requirements for the license

This service does not require a license.

Application Limitations

The CUG service is only a type of call restriction service. Calls that do not meet the requirements of the CUG service cannot be connected. Calls that meet the requirements of the CUG service may also fail, because other conditions may affect the call connection.

Interaction with Other Services

None.

Application Scenario

The CUG service is applicable to the NGN network.

Implementation Principle

Figure 1 shows the message exchange in the CUG service.

P1:

After determining that the phone of the callee supports the CUG service, the SoftX3000 connects the call to the callee.

If a subscriber in a CUG group originates a call to a subscriber whose phone does not support the CUG service, the SoftX3000 sends a RELEASE COMPLETE message carrying the cause value "the callee is not provided with the CUG service" to the caller. If a subscriber in a CUG group originates a call to a subscriber whose phone supports the CUG service, the SoftX3000 implements the ordinary call procedure to connect the call to the callee.

Charging

CUG subscriber A calls subscriber B. After the call between subscriber A and subscriber B is established, the SoftX3000 generates a common CDR.

Software Parameters
