The upgrade guide is intended for engineers responsible for an upgrade. Requirements for the engineers: - Be familiar with the network topology and versions of related network elements (NEs).
- Have experience in equipment maintenance and be familiar with equipment operation and maintenance modes.
b. The upgrade guide describes the process of upgrading equipment from an earlier version to a later version, and includes the following information: Pre-upgrade preparations, upgrade implementation, verification after an upgrade, and version rollback. Detailed operations and purposes are as follows: - Pre-upgrade preparations: prepare the documents and software package related to an upgrade, back up system data, and perform a pre-upgrade check.
- Upgrade implementation: loads the target software version from the OMU board to the service board and enable the target software version to take effect by resetting the service board.
- Verification after an upgrade: checks whether the number of subscribers served by the system increases steadily and whether the charging function is normal.
- Version rollback: rolls back the software version to verify whether the rollback function is normal.
c. The upgrade modes include a common upgrade and a hitless upgrade, and support the WEBUI-based upgrade. - Services will be interrupted for 90 seconds and 10 minutes during a hitless upgrade and a common upgrade, respectively.
