Knowledge sharing:Differences Between CR-LSP Backup and TE FRR
|
CR-LSP backup is a type of end-to-end path protection, providing protection for the entire LSP. FRR provides local protection. It protects only a certain link or a certain node in the LSP. Besides, FRR is a temporary protection policy that can respond quickly. It has a strict requirement on switching time, whereas CR-LSP backup does not. The CR-LSP backup is often used together with FRR. FRR can rapidly respond to the fault on a link or node and can switch traffic to the bypass tunnel within the shortest period. Information about the link fault is sent to the Ingress through signaling, and then the traffic is switched to the backup CR-LSP. |
