What is the different between IGMP snooping and Proxy?

When have problem on multicast, user cannot watching TV on GPON, the error code is W200003, maybe STB can not recived the Signaling multicast from server, we can change the mode from snooping to proxy and opposite. 

It will be ok, any question about this
