Question:
Why STB cannot receive the IGMP multicast from server Multisreen?
When the OLT uses the IGMP snooping mode, both the STB and
computer can play programs normally.
When the OLT uses the IGMP proxy mode, the computer can play
programs normally but the STB cannot
Case:
The OLT supports the IGMP v1/v2/v3. In IGMP proxy mode, the
protocol type used by the downstream multicast query packet is
determined by the protocol type of the upstream IGMP packet. If
the IGMP report packet sent by a multicast group uses the IGMP
v2 protocol, the query packet delivered by the OLT also uses the
IGMP v2 protocol.
1. Enable multicast debugging on the OLT. If there is a report
packet or query packet, the print information is displayed on
the console interface. The print information contains the multicast
packet type.
2. According to the print information, the STB sometimes sends
the IGMP v3 report packet, but sometimes sends the IGMP v2
report packet. It is difficult to determine how the STB selects
the protocol type.
The OLT delivers the IGMP v3 query packet, but the STB does
not response to the query packet.
Disable the IGMP v3 protocol on the OLT and force the OLT to
send the IGMP v2 query packet
