[O&M Master] How to do O&M for Passive DAS?
|
There are three basic steps of every O&M, Problem identification, Troubleshooting and Verification but every product have different methods to perform these steps. The most common methods for DAS troubleshooting are as below. Identification: Walk Test Report: A comprehensive walk test report with the building/floor map on the back side is required which will provide a clear understanding of the problem areas. it also helps to deduce whether the problem is with hardware or some other reason. Troubleshooting: DAS Design: based on walktest report, problem areas are identified. once the area is identified, the O&M team must have the DAS Design Document to perform the health check of the components. without the DAS Design document, you cannot know about the cable route or the components installed. The fist step is to verify that all the components are installed as per design. VSWR Testing: after design verification, all the components (Antennas/Cables/Connectors/Couplers/Splitters) should be tested through site master and it must be ensured that VSWR of all the components is within the acceptable range. if any component is faulty, its VSWR will be higher. after replacing the faulty parts the connectors should be tightened properly. Verification: on spot verification can be done through the softwares which are easily available on internet and can be installed easily in any android or iOS smart phone e.g Network Cell Info Lite Post Walk Test: for detailed ***ysis and customer report, post walk test should be done to confirm all the services are running normally and the problem is resolved. |
