  1. We need to ensure deviation between the transmit clock rate and the receive clock rate within a proper range to ensure the correct transmission and processing of data. Beside, it may leads pointer justification which can trigger Bit Error.

I along with customer, do a test to check when LTI alarm came. So, to do test, we first delete External clock source so that its clock switch to internal. We wait more than 10 mins but no LTI alarm came.
Guys, can you please tell me, where was the fault ?

I learn below from a case, though i am not sure about this.
In the case of service switching, if the protection channel is available, the services are switched to the protection channel regardless whether the WTR time expires. In the case of clock switching, the clock is switched to the standby clock source only after the WTR time expires.
