When the NE Software Management license is not loaded, the software upgrade ability is limited and depend on the device type. (For the access and router/switch device type concurrency is 10, the transport/PTN device type is not limited.)

Some function of NE Software Management is limited. Such as :OLT agent upgrade task of access domain can not be created.

A NE Software Management license can be authenticated in any of the following two modes:

• License file mode: Select the license file authorized in NE Software Management. For details, please contact with custom server center.
• Temporary mode:
  • The temporary authentication is available when the existing license is about to expire. This provides enough time for users to apply for a new NE Software Management license before the license expires.
  • If there is no NE Software Management license, users can apply for a temporary NE Software Management license.

NOTE:

The temporary mode is based on the following rules:

• The temporary authentication mode is available only once when the existing license is about to expire. The Temporary option button is dimmed after the temporary mode is used, indicating that it cannot be selected again.
• The temporary license is valid only within 7 days after the successful authentication in temporary mode.
• The Temporary option button is available only after you apply for a new NE Software Management license.
• If you need a temporary license at another time after a successful authentication, apply for the temporary license within three days before the existing license expires. If you apply for a temporary license after the existing license expires, a message will be displayed indicating an authentication failure.

 

Procedure

1. Choose Administration > NE Software Management > NE Software Upgrade Capability License (traditional style) from the main menu or select Fix-Network NE Software Management in Application Center and choose NE Software Management > NE Software Upgrade Capability License (application style) from the main menu. ,the dialog box is displayed as shown in following figure.

2.Click Apply.

  You can apply the temporary license or import the formal license file.

 

3. In the License Authentication dialog box, select an authentication mode for applying for the license. If the authentication succeeds, the NE Software License Management dialog box will be displayed indicating the validity period of the license, as shown in the following figure.
