Function Description

To help users quickly ascertain whether WDM trails are in protection, the Manage WDM Trail window provides the Protection Status column that takes one of the following four values:

l   Unprotected

l   Partially protected

l   Fully protected

l   Not detected

Users can filter WDM trails by protection status.

Status Description

The signal flow diagram uses blue lines to represent working routes and pink lines to represent protection routes.

l   Unprotected: The entire trail, from the source to the sink, is not protected.

l   Fully protected: The entire trail, from the source to the sink, is protected.

l   Partially protected: The trail is protected in some segments and not protected in some other segments.

In the figure below, some segments do not have protection routes but have only working routes.

In the figure below, it seems that the trail is fully protected. However, only the server layer is fully protected by ODUk routes. The client trail, from the RX port to the LP port, does not have SNCP protection.

l   Not detected: This state appears usually because the U2000 is upgraded from an old version that does not support the function.

Supported Versions

U2000 V200R001 and later versions
