How to Query a PWE3 Service by Intermediate Node

Symptom

A PWE3 service usually consists the source node, sink node, and PW switching nodes. In practical applications, one often needs to query the PWE3 services corresponding to an intermediate node. The U2000, however, does not provide any navigation path for directly querying PWE3 services by intermediate node. A solution to node-based PWE3 service query, especially intermediate-node-based PWE3 service query, is required.

Solution

                               Step 1      In the main topology, create a temporary subnet named subnet and add the target NE to the subnet. You can simply move an NE to a subnet by using shortcut keys Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V.

 

                               Step 1      Choose Service > PWE3 Service > Manage PWE3 Service from the main menu. In the Manage PWE3 Service window that is displayed, click Filter.

 

                               Step 2      On the Subnet Settings tab of the Set Filter Criteria dialog box that is displayed, select the subnet created in the previous step and click Filter. All PWE3 services on the specified NE are displayed, including those with the specified NE as an intermediate node.

 

                               Step 3      After the query is complete, move the NE from the subnet and delete the subnet.
